Varios grados más fresco que Granada en verano e ideal para explorar el paisaje montañoso y las afueras de esta ciudad histórica, en invierno su situación es también perfecta para quienes quieran gozar de las pistas de día sin renunciar a los placeres de la capital por la noche. 2 dormitorios; cuarto de baño con ducha grande y bidé; cocina con menaje completo, horno eléctrico, placa de hornillos de gas, microondas, frigorifico/congelador y lavadora; salón con vistas al pueblo y al Río Genil, aire-condicionado/bomba de calor, TV, plancha y tabla, armarios empotrados, secador, sabanas y toallas facilitadas. Piscina/terraza y zona de recreo en el techo del bloque con magníficas vistas del entorno (abierta desde la segunda quincena de junio a la segunda de septiembre). Pinos Genil es un pueblecito de alrededor de mil habitants que se encuentra en las riberas de Río Genil, al sur de la ciudad de Granada. En las faldas de la Sierra Nevada - a 30 mins de la estación de esquí (CETURSA) y a 40 minutos de la costa tropical de la provincia, los Granainos jactean de en primavera se puede esquiar por la mañana y tomar el sol en una de sus playas por la tarde. En resumen el lugar tiene un poco de todo para todos desde sus montañas hasta sus playas a través de paisajes poblados por pueblos encantadores y toda la emoción y belleza de su capital. Cómo llegar: El pueblo de Pinos Genil se encuentra al sur de Granada, unos 10 minutos por la Carretera de la Sierra. Aunque el pueblo cuente con líneas de autobuses, no son muy frequentes (se puede facilitar más información y horarios en el caso de que sea necesario) y requieren varios cambios de autobus tanto si vienen de Granada o de Málaga. La forma más fácil de llegar a Pinos Genil es en coche y la verdad es que no aconsejamos que vengan de otro modo, ya que eso les restringiría la movilidad de forma excesiva, sobre todo si tienen la intención de visitar la ciudad y sus aldrededores. Podemos reunirnos con ustedes o bien en el pueblo, o bien en la ciudad de Granada para llevarles a su destino.Los dos aeropuertos más cercanos son Málaga (a 1.5 horas) y Granada (a 30 minutos). English Text: Apartment "La Duquesa" is a fully-furnished 2 bedroom self-catering apartment overlooking the picturesque village of Pinos Genil, ten minutes to the south of the Andalusian city of Granada and directly en route to the Sierra Nevada Ski Resort. Several degrees cooler than Granada in summer and with a roof-top terrace and communal pool, it is an deal base for exploring the surrounding area without the stresses and heat of the city. Its location also makes it perfect for skiers - at only 30 minutes from the Sierra Nevada ski resort (the village lies right en route) and only 15 minutes from the city centre, it is perfect for those who want to enjoy the pistes by day but take in the city's atmosphere at night. The Apartment: 2 bedrooms - one with twin beds the other with one double; bathroom with large shower and bidet; kitchen with electric oven, gas hobs, microwave, fridgefreezer and washing machine; living-room with balcony overlooking the village and its river, air-conditioning/heating, tv, iron, fitted wardrobes, hairdryer, sheets and towels provided. Roof-top communal swimming pool/recreation area with spectacular hillside views. The Village: Pinos Genil is a small village of about a thousand inhabitants on the banks of the River Genil which lies to the south of the capital Granada in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada - 30 mins from the ski resort and 40 minutes from the province's 'Tropical Coast'. In fact a common boast among locals is that in Spring you can be skiing in the morning and sunbathing on the beach in the afternoon. Granada is particularly privileged in having access to so much cultural and natural variety. The Moorish city, nestled in the Sierra Nevada whose streams and rivers nourish the city's many springs and fountains, has a great deal to offer the visitor. It was the last city to be conquered by the medieval Spanish (1492) and its eight centuries of Moorish influences abound, from the famous 11th century palace 'La Alhambra' overlooking the old city, to the winding streets of old quarters like the Albaycin. With one of the most important Universities in Spain, Granada is a vibrant lively city with plenty to see and do and great nightlife. It is famous for its 'tapas' which unlike other parts of Spain, here still come free with every drink. Indeed a bar's reputation often stands more on the quality of its food than its drink, although as usual Spanish wines are excellent and very good value. In short there's a little bit of something for everyone, from the mountains to the beach via stunning scenery and picturesque villages as well as all the history, architecture, culture and buzz of the city. Getting there: There are buses to Pinos Genil but they are not very frequent (although we can provide information if necessary) and involve several changes if coming from either of the local airports! The easiest way to get to Pinos Genil is by car and we wouldn´t really recommend staying here without one as it would severely limit your freedom, especially if you intend to spend time in Granada capital. We can meet guests either in the village itself or equally arrange a meeting in the centre of Granada. Upon reservation/enquiry we will provide you with detailed instructions.
