El Parque Natural del Montseny es el macizo más alto de la Cordillera Prelitotral Catalana. Ocupa una extensión de 30.120 ha distribuidas en 18 municipios repartidos entre el Vallès Oriental, la Selva y Osona. Su nombre proviene del latín Montum Signum (monte señal), probablemente refiriéndose a su perfil, que es visible y reconocible desde muchos lugares de Cataluña.

El Circuit de Catalunya, inaugurado en 1991 en Montmeló, se ha consolidado ya como una de las instalaciones más modernas del mundo del motor, acogiendo F1 y motociclismo. Reune las condiciones necesarias para celebrar las competiciones más importantes del motor, como el GP Malboro de España de F-1 y el de Cataluña de Motociclismo, puntuable para el Campeonato del Mundo.

La tradición gastronómica comarcal es rica en productos de denominación de origen y destaca sobretodo, por saber guisar y saborear casi todos los platos típicos de la cocina catalana.

Los bosques mediterráneos, sobre un relieve montañoso y accidentado, configuran el paisaje de este Parque que, en la sierra de Marina, cierra la anilla verde de parajes naturales que rodea y oxigena la aglomeración urbana de Barcelona.

Con una extensión de 15.000 ha., situado en al Cordillera Litoral Catalana, se reparte entre las comarcas del Maresme y el Vallès Oriental. La separación entre ambos macizos, el Montnegre y el Corredor, lo determinan las rieras de Vallgorguina y de Arenys. Los puntos más altos son el santuario del Corredor, a 638 metros, y el Turó de Ponent, que se encuentra a 762 metros de altura.
Entre la variada vegetación encontramos, mayoritariamente, encinares, alcornocales, y pinedas de pino blanco y pino piñero, propios del clima mediterráneo, y también encontramos zonas con robledos, castañeros, alisales e incluso algunas hayas y abedules, ya que encontrándose cerca del mar, hay más humedad de la habitual en el clima mediterráneo.

Esta variedad de ambientes propicia que la fauna también sea diversa y abundante. Hay ardillas, ginetas, azores, picapinos, arrendajos o serpientes blancas; pero también: gargantablancas, topos rojos o sapos.

La ocupación humana es muy antigua, y aún hoy podemos observar restos de las diferentes épocas: el dolmen de la Pedra Gentil y el de la Pedra del Arca nos hablan de un pasado neolítico, y los restos del Turó del Vent o del Puig del Castell, de los pueblos íberos que la habitaron. Las masias como la de can Pradell de la Serra, can Bosch y Ca l'Oller de Fuirosos son muestras de la vida agrícola que en los últimos cincuenta años ha ido desapareciendo.

Montseny Natural Park is largest massif of the Catalan Pre-coastal Sierra. It covers an area of 30.120 hectares and extends throughout 18 municipalities distributed of the Vallès Oriental, Selva and Osona. Its name comes from Latin Montum Signum (Sign Mountain), probably in reference to its silhouette, visible and recognisable from many parts of Catalonia. 

 In 1991, the Catalonia Tour was inaugurated in Montmeló. Since then, it has rightfully won its fame as one of the most modern installations for motor vehicles in the world, host to the F1 and numerous motorcycle races. The Tour meets the requirements of the most important motorised competitions, such as the F1's GP Marlboro of Spain and the Motorcycle Course of Catalonia, which counts in World Championship scoring.

The gastronomic tradition is rich in products with a guarantee of origin. More than anything, the county stands out for its kitchen know-how, especially with regard to typical Catalan cuisine.

The Mediterranean forests, covering a mountainous and uneven terrain, make up the landscape of this park, which, as part of the Marina Sierra, closes the ring of natural areas that encircle and produce oxygen for the Barcelona metropolis (the "anell verd").

With an extension as large as 15,000 hectares, this part of the Coastal Range of Catalonia is divided between two counties: the Maresme and the Vallès Oriental. The separation between the two forest masses, the Montnegre and the Corredor, is marked by the two waterways of Vallgorguina and Arenys. The highest points are the Corredor's sanctuary, at 638 metres, and Ponent Hill, which is 762 metres high.

Among the diverse vegetation that can be found in this park, you will find mostly holm oak-wood trees, acorn trees, white pine trees and pinion pines, all of which are common in Mediterranean climates. In the park, there are also oak trees, chestnut trees, alders and even beech trees and birch trees, which can be found close to the sea where there is more humidity.

Animal also prospers in this rich natural setting. There are squirrels, genets, goshawks, jays, woodpeckers or white snakes; as well as white throats, red moles or toads.

Human settlement in this area dates back to ancient times. We can still find remains from the different periods: the Pedra Gentil dolmen and the Pedra de l'Arca speak of a Neolithic past, while the ruins on the Vent Hill or the Castell Mount show signs of the Iberian people who inhabited them. The farmhouses can Pradell de la Serra, can Bosch and Ca l'Oller de Fuirosos ar examples of rural life, which has been disappearing over the past fifty years.
